What Are Lasagna Cups?

Before we get began, I suppose I should explain what these individaul lasagna containers actually are. The best way I can imagine to describe it is that these are lasagna cups with wonton wrappers, baked directly into muffin tins!

Farm pals and busy individuals everywhere, I made this simple dinner recipe just for you!

It's the kind of meal you think about on a chilly, blustery day when you know a turkey sandwich just won't do.

I mean, i enjoy a nice chilled lunch ideas and all, but every now and then, you something different....You want something you can consume while on the go, but that's delectable and substantial but light all at the same time.

Why I Love This Lasagna Cups Recipe

Lasagna Cups

These lasagna containers are super-duper simple to make. We're talking about a child appropriate meal idea that grown ups enjoy too.

  • I couldn't determine what to name these. We pondered over everything from lasagna cups, lasagna muffins, mini lasagna cups, lasagna cups wontons, muffin tin lasagna, lasagna cupcakes, or my favored recommendation - "get in my belly muffins"! Obviously I opted with mugs, but you can name them whatever you believe your family will most embrace.

  • They can be made ahead of time and chilled. Simply roast, refrigerate and defrost.

  • They are bento compatible. Pack them in a school lunch. In your farmer's meal. Take them to the ball field!

How To Make Lasagna Cups

  • Be sure to spray your 12 cup muffin tin. Even if it's non-stick, I recommend you spray the containers. You'll thank me when you're not peeling off pastry later on.

  • Speaking of dough, we're using wonton wrappers instead of lasagna strands. These don't require any preparation and are quite delightful to work with. That sounds strange, but you'll see for yourself how incredibly smooth the casings are when you're working with them!

  • You can locate wonton wrappers in the produce section at the grocery store.

  • Two wrappers go in each muffin cup. I don't know how to precisely articulate how to arrange them out, so I'll say they appear "like so" and let the photographs below speak for themselves...

  • Brown your minced beef in a skillet & remove it. Then add your sauce and chill slightly. Add the cheese and set aside for assembly time.

  • Then it's time to get assembling. This is what they appear like before roasting.

  • And here's what lasagna containers look like after they're served. Soooo delicious, right?

Individual Lasagna Cup Recipe Variations

Mini Lasagna Cupcakes

I have to admit these are delectable as is, but in case you want to change things up, here are some suggestions for you!

  • We always have a larder full of beef, but you could 100% make these with bulk Italian sausage.

  • Sneak some frozen and defrost spinach into the mélange. Do what my Mom used to do and tell the kids (okay, and probably your spouse, too) that it's parsley.

  • If you have excess egg roll wrappers from creating buffalo chicken egg rolls, you can use them here!

  • Make these ahead of time and place into a bento. They're just as delicious at ambient temperature as they are heated. Trust me, we've flavor tested these many times! If it's one of those frigid, dismal days when something warm is 100% required, bring it in this heated bento. sure, we have one and sure, it works!

Can I preserve lasagna cups?

Yes, you can ! Cook a quantity up, then chill and swaddle individually. They'll store in the freezer for up to three months.

How long should I bake lasagna plates?

Bake for 12-15 minutes. You'll searching for melty cheese and faintly browned wonton wrappers.
